I LOVE Janet Chapman's books. I have them all and I have re-read them several times.

This is the story of Maximilian Oceanus and Olivia Baldwin. Olivia runs a camp that helps parents communicate with their children. Mac has just found he has a 6 year old son he didn't know about and has no idea how to deal with him.

Mac takes a serious liking to Olivia and pursues her. Olivia had a bad first marriage and wants nothing to do with another one, but she isn't winner against her attraction to Mac.

As with all Janet's books there is magic in the air. It's all good fun.
I like Janet's writing. Her stories are addicting and this book was no exception. However, there are things about her books that I don't like. I don't have to read a sex scene if it bothers me, but the bad language is another matter. It just pops up all the time and can't be avoided. It ruins a perfectly lovely book for me. Janet, you are such a good writer, surly you can think of a more elegant way to use language. I only wish that you would do that so I can enjoy the rest of the Spellbound Falls series.
Additive ~ creative mind to weave this supernatural web of Wizards mistakes
to thrust warriors, horses and all into the future Maine by mumbling the wrong
spell and the hilarious mischief it causes local residents ~ Add a warrior who has been
turned into a dragon with a sweet tooth (one of her other books) all Janets books keep
you wanting the next one asap to find out what other mishaps will continue to occur.
Janet Chapman is my favorite. I just don't know how she does it so consistently. She just has such an feel for the way people think and feel and this book deals with family relationships and children in a way that just makes me happy just reading how she describes everyone's feelings. The love story is well developed and has deeper meanings for both Mac and Olivia. I read it in one day and could not put it down and at the same time I hate to finish quickly since I will have to wait a long time for the next wonderful book. If you haven't read any of Chapmans books, start at the beginning. It helps to get to know all the wonderful characters in her series. I have read them all. Thank you Janet!
The entire Spellbound Falls (and for that matter, ALL Chapman's novels) are fascinating. Not your ordinary time travel romances as all are set in the present day time with some of the characters having traveled through time. I've always been fascinated with druidry and the ancient religions and this touches on them - lightly. Ms. Chapman's writing style is great - easy and it all just flows seamlessly. The only caution I would give is - you won't be able to put her books down until you've finished reading them! I look forward to every new book!
Mac comes to Spellbound Falls to learn about being a father to Henry, his 6 year old son he has just learned about. He meets his match in Miss Olivia Baldwin and her 8 year old daughter. While Olivia is teaching Mac how to relax and be a dad, he is also learning other lessons on how to be more vulnerable and how to open his heart to both Henry and Olivia.
Olivia needs the money that Mac offers for private lessons on parenting young Henry. She finds herself moving from being the quiet, unassuming mouse to the proactive, stand up for herself lion full of courage and strength.
Mac must convince Olivia he is worthy of her while Olivia must overcome her past relationships and be willing to love again.
The best thing about having a is receiving a new release a few minutes after midnight. Spellbound Fallls is worth staying up really, really, really late to read. This book was worth paying full price for an ebook--a discount would be better though--hint,hint Jove Books.

Spellbound Falls has everything a good romance (to my way of thinking) should have a happy ending, not too much stress getting there, and some, make that many humorous situations. Great main characters with great interaction between them and the secondary characters are also on my must have list. Janet Chapman delivered on all accounts.

Olivia is a single mom running a camp for families to connect or more often reconnect with each other. Maxmilian (Mac) Oceanus just found out he has a 6 year old son and is baffled about being a parent while Henry is not sure about having a father. While getting the camp ready to reopen, Mac enjoys the "pearls of wisdom" that Olivia drops. As Mac becomes a better father, Olivia is teaching Henry is to become a proper son. Of course Olivia and Mac have different ideas of what proper should be.

Since this is a Janet Chapman book, not everyone is quite what they seem. Olivia finds herself unable to open car doors, unbuckle her seat belt, and suddenly wearing an ankle bracelet that she can't get off!

Maximilian appeared in the Midnight Bay Trilogy, but Spellbound Falls can stand alone as the first in a series. The next book comes out in June 2012.
