Never Been Kissed The Boys of Bishop Molly O'Keefe 9780345549013 Books
Wow every time I start to read a Molly O'Keefe book, I am amazed at how well she writes.i love the little town of Bishop, Arkansas and when the book started I was worried how she was going to get us there. Shouldn't have been worried as her plot was great and pretty soon I was back in Bishop with the town. This is the story of Ashley Montgomery, the daughter of a rich family in Georgia who have lots of political aspirations. Ashley feels like the black sheep of the family because she wants no part of politics. She has a heart of gold and wants to build communities. Brody had been her bodyguard previously and due to a kidnapping of Ashley by pirates, he gets called into action for her again. From the very first you feel the connection between these two and the story revolves around their courtship and situational dilemmas. Brody has a lot of childhood issues (well deserved) but since Bishop is his hometown we get to see If these get resolved.I also loved the secondary love story of Sean, Brody's brother, and Cora who manages the small grill in their town. What a fun read this was and I also looking forward to the next book in this series. Thanks to Ms. O'Keefe, Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with and ARC of this book for an honest review.

Never Been Kissed The Boys of Bishop Molly O'Keefe 9780345549013 Books Reviews
Another good one from Molly O'Keefe in her Boys of Bishop series. Although part of a series this can most definitely be read stand alone. The backdrop of the story is a small town in the south and the writing makes the town and the characters come to life. It's a great place for a NY political socialite to hide out and heal. It's a great story dealing with past hurts and forging new futures and realizing everyone deserves happy. I highly recommend this one.
I adored this new story from Ms O'Keefe!!! I love everything about Bishop and couldn't wait to read this next installment. Ms O'Keefe definitely knows how to write a heartwarming story that grabs you from the beginning! I loved Brody and Ashley's characters and I enjoyed watching them work through their doubts and fears. I also loved the romance that happened between the secondary characters Sean and Cora!
All in all a great read!!!! You won't want to miss!
I actually read the third installment first and this book honestly blew that one out of the water even thought that's wasn't that bad. I connected with this storyline more, but above all that it's just very well written even though the plot may be simple at times, it'll always keep you on the edge of your seat. Non stop page turner, tremendous play on emotions, can make a growed man cry, can't pass this up. With an added bonus love story of the Hero's brother Sean falling in love with Cora. Double fun, must read!
I always enjoy Ms. O'Keefe's books. They are always well written and well-paced. The characters are people you would want to know. Their is no instant love. Her stories build. My only complaint is that the HEA and realization on the part of the H came pretty quickly. For three quarters of the book, I really wondered how the issues would clear up and then BAM, they did. However, because I was invested in the characters, I wasn't as bothered as I might have been with a lessor book. This was delightful way to spend a couple of days. I highly suggest the read.
I now have another favorite author. I almost read this book in one sitting and would have had I not had something important to do. I loved Brody and Ashley, Sean and Cora, and Ed. There were moments of humor, of seriousness, of some really great love scenes, and deep emotions both happy and sad. This book had it all, along with some real interesting family dynamics for each of the characters. I look forward to the next book in this series but until then I will be reading more of Molly's books.
This was a fun read and though it is part of a series it works fine as a stand-alone. The characters felt very real and that is what gives O'Keefe's books a lot more depth and interest. For a while I wasn't crazy about the hero but he had good reasons for acting the way he did, as did the other characters in the story. Molly O'Keefe's stories are quite simply high quality romance. I'm giving the story 4 stars vice 5 simply because it felt a tiny bit long -- but I hasten to add that I was glued to the story from start to finish. I definitely recommend this author!
I didn't love this book as much as the other 2 I read by this author. As the other 3 star reviewer says, the H is very unlikeable for a big part of this book. My goodness I wasn't sure that we were going to get an hea towards the end. The H is a very emotionally closed man who doesn't do relationships, not even with his family. He is a bodyguard and he and the h have history that goes way back. There was an incident 10 years before where the h threw herself at the H and he got fired as a result. The h's family is a politically prominent one and her mother is a b**ch of note. They meet up again when the h is kidnapped by Somalian pirates who demand a ransom. The h's brother requests that the H go with him to pick her up. She then persuades him to take her somewhere safe so that she can recover from her ordeal as she was very badly beaten. He takes her where no one can find her, his tiny hometown. There is a very long and difficult journey to their hea but we meet some great secondary characters along the way who will also be getting their own books. I have pre-ordered the next one already despite not loving this book entirely.
One thing that I found strange was the cover of this book and I NEVER pay attention to covers. In the book the H is described as being very dark because his father was black and his mother was from the Philippines so why on earth is the guy on the cover white? I imagined a hunky Denzel look alike from the author's descriptions rather than the actual cover.
